This would be the last release of the classic Good Rats lineup, featuring material from the previous four studio albums. Most of the great concert songs are here and performed well, although lacking some of the colorful language that would typically be found in the live performances...
The biggest disappointment is the sound. I've heard bootleg Grateful Dead soundboard recordings from the same era that have a more intimacy and depth than is found here. As a Good Rats fanatic when this was released, I was hoping this would be for the Rats what Live Bullet was to Bob Seger, showing how the music was transformed live in front of hometown fans. It fell short, and the lineup would break-up shortly after its release. It's a solid live album, although I have a preference for Rats the Way You Like Em, a radio station performance that was finally released on CD. By the way, if you like drum solos, check out Joe Franco in "Klash-Ka-Bob". It's some of the best rock drumming you'll ever hear.
